Wairua Consulting
Limited is a New Zealand-based consulting, research and training
company that empowers people, organisations and governments to achieve
real results through the effective use of information and communication
technologies (ICT).
We work with new ventures and established organisations,
locally and internationally. We work right across the government,
business and civil society sectors specialising in strategy/policy
development, research and evaluation and providing mentoring,
training and facilitation.
We
transform processes to take advantage of new technologies and more
effective 'work' practices, focused on successful outcomes for all
stakeholders. Technology is a tool and we ensure that the technology
you choose meets your needs and aligns with your strategy. In
government and community settings, we focus on promoting the effective
use of ICT as a catalyst and an enabler for active participation
in civic, democratic and economic life for individuals, communities
and business.

Founded
in 1997, our name comes from a Maori word meaning "spirit".
Wairua evokes a duality and this is represented by our commitment
not only to serving our clients but in giving our time and energy
back to our communities. Wairua Consulting is a supporter of numerous
local, national and international community-based organisations
and events in sectors such as community technology, technology education,
mental health and refugee/migrant advocacy and support.

success stories
"Wairua Consulting has always been a unique combination of insight, vision and passion for the Internet. That's why SmartManukau hired them to review options for online business compliance. Their work was impressive and invaluable to build solutions on. We knew that they would facilitate knowledge without borders: Sharing knowledge and helping Manukau City Council with information and promotion, even after the study was finished!"
Dr Hanna Frederick, SmartManukau, Manukau City Council, New Zealand.

"[Wairua Consulting's] 5-stage model has provided an excellent framework for discussion at Cape Gateway, to help us understand information flows and where our different constituent communities are in terms of ICT maturity."
Steve Vosloo, Centre for e-Innovation, Provincial Government of the Western Cape, South Africa.

"Ruth DeSouza and Andy Williamson are indefatigable workers for cultural diversity and intercultural understanding. They embody the spirit of the New Zealand Diversity Action Programme. They are making an enormous contribution, and serve as an inspiration to others who want to do something to ensure that Aotearoa New Zealand lives up to its promise as a place where different peoples can live together in mutual respect and appreciation."
Joris de Bres,
Race Relations Commissioner / Kaihautū Whakawhanaunga a Iwi,
Human Rights Commission, Wellington, New Zealand.

"A landmark piece in our endeavour to adequately describe and attribute credit to those involved in developing instructional materials... [your work] will stand as the first significant publication in this area [and serves] as a standard upon which the realities of intellectual property in education will be defined."
Dr Bill Riffee, Associate Provost for Distance, Continuing and Executive Education, University of Florida, USA.
