Andy is a thought leader and visionary who is passionate about the potential for digital media to enhance civil society and democratic life. His work revolves around digital engagment, civic participation, online campaigning and political communication. A well known writer and speaker, Andy draws on his extensive background in commercial ICT consultancy, local and central government policy, technology innovation, broadband, regional development and community informatics. A New Zealander, Andy is now based in the UK but retains his global focus. He holds a PhD from Monash University in Australia, is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Member of the Royal Society of New Zealand and the Association for Computing Machinery. He is currently Director of the Hansard Society's eDemocracy Programme. Andy's work is not about technology; it's about empowering people and supporting governments to become equitable and effective participants in our digital future.
